advantage bat good kid league playing season spring swinging taking time
He's been swinging the bat good. He started the season with us because he had such a big Spring Training. We like the kid a lot, and we think he's going to have a good big league career. We're going to give him some playing time this month, and he's taking advantage of it.
coming couple days few ground later move next taking until week
He's going to do a couple of things here today, move around a bit, but it won't be until later next week that he'll be taking ground balls. He's still a few days away from coming back.
good steps taking
He has been taking some good swings. That's what we got him for. He's intimidating when he steps in there.
balls best taking work
The best work you can get is taking balls off the bat, over and over and over again.
answer games ready
There are 10 games left, and he's not ready to go today, ... Or tomorrow. So I can't answer that yet.
hits platoon
The platoon is still on, he just hits Vazquez good.
developing near win
We think we can win when he pitches, but we're also developing him for the future. You've got to do it sometimes -- and what's the other option? The more he's out there, the better he'll be in the near future.
ahead coming expect spring throw
We kind of had (Janssen) ahead coming out of spring training. Experience-wise they're all pretty similar. You know (Janssen) is going to come up and throw strikes, you expect him too anyway. It's his opportunity.
ahead coming others spring
We kind of had him ahead of the others coming out of spring training.
guys
You guys are pretty much right on it. But things could change.
balls benefit guys hard hit
We hit some balls hard right at guys today. That's baseball, we also benefit from that, too.
against beat brains built cause compete division expected gate good key optimism slow team teams trying year
We expected to have a better team than we've had here in a while. The key is to play to good against the teams you're going to compete with all year because there's been optimism built up, expectations and you want to keep that going. You don't want to come out of the gate slow and let the teams you're trying to overtake in your division beat your brains in cause then everybody's like where's the progress?
breathing runs
We scored some runs to give him a little breathing room. He pitched good. He got out of some big jams.
sake throw throwing
We don't want to throw him out there just for the sake of throwing him out there.
