defense major normally played possible shots step took tremendous trying wins
We're all trying to get as many wins as possible and they took a major step with the win tonight. I thought they played tremendous defense on us. We couldn't make shots the way we normally do.
brilliant played
We played just a brilliant first half. We really got after them from the start.
hard prepare staple team
The 1-3-1 is very hard to prepare for in just one day. It was a staple of everybody's team in the 1970s.
basketball great pace pushed tempo
That was a great basketball game. Their tempo is incredible. No one had pushed us at that pace all year.
That's the thing I think of when I think of this rivalry. That's when I sensed it was something special.
change changeable missed momentum stock
That's way overrated. Momentum can change so quickly. One injury, one missed shot, a missed dunk, technical. Momentum is too changeable for me to put much stock in it.
That's a very important thing, and I'll let him make that choice.
became fortunate kid
He became a kid that we were very fortunate to get.
appears close injured percent plays since
He appears to be as close to 100 percent as he's been since the injury. He's going to get injured when he plays because he's so fearless. Going into this game, we're going to need that fearlessness in him, and I know we're going to get it.
anybody
I don't think anybody thought we were slow-paced then.
bothered confidence eight elite five game happened lack last led lose louisville maybe texas twice until
I don't think until the Louisville game (in the Elite Eight last season) did we ever lose a game we led in the last minute. Then it happened to us twice in five days. I think (the Texas loss) bothered us for at least another game. Maybe there was a little lack of confidence after that.
almost chris defense good guard impossible tough
He's incredible. There is not a defense for some people, and Chris Quinn is almost impossible to defend. You look at him and think 'Here's this choirboy. He's not going to be able to do anything.' But he is as tough and as good a guard as there is in the Big East.
handled learn
I don't like the way we handled a lot of things, but we're going to learn from this game.
believe help unbalanced
The unbalanced schedule, I think, may help some teams, believe it or not.
