John Beilein
John Patrick Beileinis an American college basketball coach and current men's basketball head coach at the University of Michigan. He is the 16th head coach of the Michigan Wolverines. The 2015–16 season is his ninth at Michigan. Beilein has won 665 career games at four-year universitiesand 732 games altogether, including those at the junior-college level. We're very excited about our television schedule. To go from one or two national games a year to possibly double-digit games on national television is good news, but you can't get on television unless you play the top teams in the country. It speaks well about the direction of our program.

I have had 1,000 people tell me that they used to go in a pick-up truck with their father and drive up on a mountain and listen to the games on the radio. We must have had a heck of a gym because I have had a million people say they saw Jerry West play.

There were some games when we were on the road and I didn't think we had the right attitude. Did we have the right energy? Was the season wearing us down? I don't know. It's sort of an intangible thing.

In games like this there are little three or four minute spans when you've got to be mentally tough enough when that other team is really challenging you. They're distracting your game and you can't give in and I thought we gave in a couple of times and it will be a great thing for us to learn from.

We just had a really tough road trip at Pitt, Georgetown and at Seton Hall. There's not too many times you feel fortunate to win one out of three. But I do feel that way, even though we would have liked to win them all, or two out of three.

They are a blend of Cincinnati, Pittsburgh and maybe a Georgetown with the way they guard. They are just a great defensive team. You hear a lot about it, but, watching it with my own eyes, you can see they have great quickness.

Rather than those gut-wrenching last seconds, it was good to just get some of these guys out of there and let them enjoy the experience of playing in the NCAA Tournament.
