I like the way that we've come into both these games. We've been aggressive early, getting scoring position, constantly giving ourselves chances to get runs on the board. So I feel good about our club right now.
I'm comfortable with the way he's swinging the bat. We might as well take advantage of it while we have three catchers. It would be a little tougher to do if we only had two.
I'm assuming he'll be able to start on his day. I don't think anything was a problem today.
Not one thing I did tonight (worked). I never picked the right guy out of the bullpen.
If you're a successful team you don't let things that are going on away from the field affect you. You do what you have to do, when you have to do it. At this point in the season, we're going start to start.
If you're going to apply any pressure, those are the people to have. It was emotional.
If you're ever going to get them, it's going to be their pitching. But we really haven't had success against their pitching.
Instead of questioning the period, they're going to question the player for the whole time, and I don't think that's fair. Because he was a heck of a player as a skinny kid. He hit a lot of home runs against me. I would walk him intentionally even then, so that kind of respect was earned at that point in time.
In situations like that, I am. I was so elated for the team, but for this kid . . . We've sent him back and forth to Columbus. He waited for the tap on the shoulder with some of the moves we've made and he didn't get it.
He's still getting back to where he needs to be. He needs to feel good about his command, because Moose is more about finesse than power.
He's telling me all the work he's doing. Hopefully, that's the case.
He's such a manager's friend in that regard.
He's still young, so let's not be too impatient with him. He lost the zone there a little bit and he rushed to the plate. Other than that, his stuff was good tonight.
