Everybody on our team supports Ted Saskin and Trevor Linden, there's no issue whatsoever. All the guys I talk to are happy with Ted. I can't believe this is even an issue. It's crazy. Here in Colorado, the focus is on training camp, where it should be.
It means a lot because as a kid you watched him (Lafleur) in Montreal, doing his magic. I was fortunate to room with him on the road for the first couple of years I was in Quebec.
It's kind of nice, but I don't think I'm passing anybody else for a while. I appreciate every moment that it happens.
It's good to see them and show our appreciation. They're coming back, and we know we didn't do the most popular thing in the last year - both sides.
It's just great to get the win. It was a battle out there. After the first period, we thought we had everything under control.
It was a salary-cap thing to get us under (the $39 million ceiling). I understood exactly why and I had no problem with it at all. It was important to get the team under in this new era the way the game is.
I want to be the guy who either puts it away or tries to keep it alive. It didn't get there. Obviously, it wasn't meant to be.
The Vancouver thing, you guys are blowing it out of proportion,
They are not going to quit. They are going to fight, they are going to do whatever they can to get a win. There is no tomorrow if you don't win that game. That's what makes it real hard to win your fourth one.
They were both great. It was nice to see them get on the board. The pressure is off and now they can just worry about having fun out there. They're so young, you want them to keep enjoying it. It's memories for them.
It's a good feeling to be in this position, but we also know they have a great hockey team.
It's a great honor, a privilege, and I'm looking forward to it. But to me it's not any extra pressure or anything. We're there to try and win a gold together.
It's a huge win for us. (Being ahead) 3-0 is obviously a lot different than 2-1 so, hopefully, we can find a way to keep this going. They're too good of a team; you don't want to give them any life.
We didn't think scoring would be a problem. It's hard to explain. I think the confidence was there, but we were just too tentative and didn't generate on the inside. Yesterday was a new start for us. We thought we'd improve, but it didn't happen.
