rest scoring
The scoring hasn't been what we thought it would be. But if you look at the rest of her line, it's incredible.
imagine strong
so you can imagine there's a strong sense of urgency.
coaching difficult knows needs ride team
Coaching is a roller-coaster ride sometimes for all of us. Yes, this has been a difficult year, but this team knows what it needs to do.
hit shot time
That's not the first time she's hit a shot that was like a dagger.
basket feet seeing shoot tired
I got tired of seeing her shoot one-foot shots. Let's put her at least 15 feet from the basket and see what she does.
composure experience feed looks nina step
If they look at Nina and she looks like she's befuddled, then they feed off of that. Who else is going to have the composure and experience to step up and do that?
sit
I don't know when Tiffany's going to be ready, so we can't sit around and wait.
best four freshmen great guided hard leader mentor miss opportunity represent resource success volunteer worked
I am really going to miss these four seniors. As a group, they represent the best of what student-athletes can be. They are appreciative of every opportunity and resource we have at Texas. They've worked very very hard in basketball. Academically, all of them are a success story. They volunteer and give back in the community. They've guided the freshmen especially well, and each of them has been a great leader and mentor for our young team.
both connected connection ends figured impetus likes team
Right now, it's about connection and chemistry, because this team really likes each other, but they haven't figured out how to get connected on the court. They are all trying, but you have to have impetus on both ends of the floor.
ankles cautious determination game percent point pressure season treatment trying
She's day to day. I know she will not be 100 percent on Sunday. At this point in the season we're being cautious because we know how ankles are. So it's going to be probably game day before a determination is made and there's no pressure on Tiffany to come back. Obviously, I'm hopeful. And, obviously, there's 24-hour surveillance and treatment trying to get her ready.
connection kept looked lose proud refuses team totally
I'm always proud of a team that refuses to lose. There were times we looked like we would totally lose connection to Missouri, but we kept pecking away.
admiration deal dean great respect successful
I have a great deal of respect and admiration for what he's done for our game. No one was more successful than Dean Smith.
basketball growth hard missed people players solid tech texas time
It's a hard job, and she's been doing it a long time and doing it really, really well. She'll be missed not only at Texas Tech and by the players she's coaching, but in the basketball community. She's one of the solid people who has been really instrumental in the growth of our sport.
effort except good low mind point team today
It wasn't the kind of effort we expect. It wasn't the kind of effort that's going to be anything except a loss. It's disappointing, because this team is good enough, but in my mind they have underachieved. Today was probably the low point of that.
