Bill understands the important role of the KGS in the research and service missions of the university and is working to build closer ties with the rest of the campus. He recognizes that all public service at KU begins with teaching and research and has provided outstanding leadership the past two years and made excellent hires during the interim. Thanks to his efforts, the KGS is in a strong position and poised to be of even greater service to Kansas.

This was just two good teams going at each other toe-to-toe. It was a great atmosphere, great excitement and great intensity. I thought both teams played extremely hard. I'm very happy for our kids and I'm very proud of them.

Yep. To do what they did, especially to come into the season where there a lot of expectations, I think the kids did a great job of handling things right in front of them. I think that is what has enabled them to get to this point.

This group of guys has been knocked on their backsides and they continue to get back up. I think that's the greatest compliment I can give them. Everyone looks at their record this year, and that's something they've earned, but sometimes people tend to forget what we went through to get to this point.

This has been a journey. But the reality of it is, in a state tournament, we faced three teams prior to this and the journey came to an end for them, and unfortunately for us, the journey came to an end (in this game). But it didn't come to an end without a lot of great effort and a lot of tears.

He did a great job of getting to the open spots and his teammates did a great job of getting him the basketball. He was pretty relentless on the glass at times, and I thought his teammates did a good job of finding him where he could get looks. I thought our ball movement as a team was pretty good.

Marion is a great defender, one of the best we've faced. But, don't forget, he had some help.

The neatest thing for us is the coaches we get to deal with (that were in this) are all great people. We have relationships with them that go beyond basketball. To have three of the four Tri-Cities teams come in and play is a neat thing. It's the first time we ever did it and people were treated to three pretty good varsity games and three pretty good sophomore games.
