It's intense pressure going into one single race. We've been in pressure situations before. I know there is a reason and who knows - we might find out why on (Saturday) it was meant to be or not meant to be.
It was a hell of a night. It's just one of those nights. You'll have those good nights when things will happen. We thought we had it at one time. I don't know if we just got a bad set of tires, over-adjusted or what. We were really looking good and then things just went backwards. We struggled back and forth all night.
It was like my car would just stop, and everything I tried to do just wouldn't work.
It was more to get ready for this year. We had new people on board and we tried to build some momentum. We can't really jump to many conclusions here.
I've known Steve for a long time. He has a lot of talent and we're excited about where the team is now.
The first thing I did was go to Rick Hendrick and tell him what I'd been approached with, what I would like to do and what my hopes were. We worked it all out, and first thing I know I'm signing a lifetime contract.
The challenge is getting us ready for next season. I don't really care where we end up in points now. It's all about getting ourselves into position to get things turned around.we certainly don't want to be in the position we are in now.
The challenge is getting ourselves ready for next season. We certainly don't want to be in the position we're in right now.
