What he wants more than anything else is to be part of a championship team. It would have been the case with any of the teams. It was a tough decision. They all have an opportunity to win, but he just felt that the Spurs were the best fit for him.
The money was one of the factors he looked at but in the end the most important thing was the opportunity to win a championship and to have a significant role in that. When it came down to those factors, the Spurs were the best fit.
I grew up there, and it seems like the best place to me - somewhere where you know everything. Where you know where all the roads go.
I can't say there was. Michael took his time and met with all the teams last week. He took the weekend to sort of sit back and evaluate everything. He narrowed it down and just decided San Antonio was the best fit for him.
We struggled from the perimeter, we struggled inside we struggled on the boards. We struggled every place tonight.
The only conclusion one can draw while money was a factor, it wasn't the deciding factor for him. It didn't come down to the team that could pay him the most money.
Our players have a lot of confidence right now. We've been behind a lot, so they know that if they just play together, we can come back.
I think there will be a lot of factors that will go into it, but having a chance to play for a championship is certainly going to be important.
Michael wants to have an adequate amount of time to listen to what all the teams have to offer, and then have some time to reflect. I don't anticipate it dragging on very long.
I thought we had it. But they made their free throws.
We couldn't get anything going against their zone defense. It's been giving us trouble all year. Coach Bass did a good job keeping them in it. They handled our press well. They rebounded well.
We went with a bigger lineup in the third quarter because that usually helps us. But we missed free shots, and we missed free throws. And they made all of theirs.
We couldn't make anything. I'm surprised we were still in it the way we shot the ball.
When we raise these rates, people will use less. That's a goal we want to achieve.
