quality work
We're going to work; we're going to work hard. It's going to be quality work.
excited hard provide responsibility team work
It's our responsibility to provide (the fans) with a kind of team that they can get excited about. That's what we are hard at work doing. We really are.
bad ball came emphasis hard maybe nine shape strong worked
It behooves me. It came in every shape and size. When it rains, it pours. We worked very hard on that all through camp, all through spring. Maybe our emphasis hasn't been strong enough lately. How many times was the ball on the ground? Nine times. That's ridiculous. That's bad coaching.
atmosphere ball coaching embrace game hard players practice style though time tried whatever work worked
We try to play the game on the practice field. Any time players can feel in a simulated-type atmosphere where it's like a ball game, they like it. Even though it's hard work and it's competitive and all of those things, that's our intent. Fun, or whatever it is, I feel like our players have worked really hard. I think that they've tried to embrace our style of coaching that we've brought.
adapt college football hard helpful players prepares pro system teach tried worked year
He worked very hard to adapt to our system and I think that's going to be helpful to him a year from now. We tried to teach players how a pro football player prepares himself, which is different than how a college player prepares.
balls caught worked yesterday
He's still sore. He worked out yesterday and caught some balls on his own going out there with buddies. It's iffy.
balls caught worked yesterday
He's still sore, ... He worked out yesterday and caught some balls on his own going out there with buddies. It's iffy.
asked believe consistent continue develop dream football goes pass pro process protection running staying worked year
He's worked very hard. That's what I've asked him to do. His dream is to go on to pro football. He's learned. It's a process. We want him to be a very consistent back, in pass protection as well as running the football and staying healthy. I'd like to believe the process is in place and that he's going to continue to develop as the year goes on.
best bodies football forcing hitting people since starting
What we're really starting to do is get as many people around the football as possible, since the best thing for forcing turnovers is getting a lot of bodies on a guy. That, and hitting hard.
coaching heard
Through my coaching career, this is the most I've ever heard that I was an underdog. We ain't going down there just to play. We're going down to win. We'll see how it goes.
anybody blocking catch field good line offensive open running touching
Our blocking downfield was big. When you go running right through the offensive line without anybody touching you, something good is going on there. Once (Rhodes) got into the open field they weren't going to catch him.
hung pitt ranked time won
Pitt was 1-4 -- and one time was ranked No. 23. They hung in there and now, all of sudden, they won two in a row.
ball effective ends good gotta job pass tight
I think our (offensive line) is getting better. We gotta get the ball off and be effective in our pass protection. I think our tight ends are doing a good job in pass protection.
amount basketball coaching cross game great heard informed line quite tim today underdog
I think (defensive line coach) Tim Cross made a great statement: 'It isn't about if we can play with them, but we need to win,' ... I was informed today that we were underdogs. I was informed of the amount (21 points). I will tell you, in my coaching career, this is the most I've ever heard that I was an underdog in a game other than a basketball game that I did win. Obviously, we have quite a test.
