beat double gray guard leaves teams tough
We just got beat by a better team. When they go bad, they can always go in to Gray and you have to guard him. Most teams will double him, and that leaves someone else open. That makes them tough to beat.
best five games guys heart job kids played playing three
We were playing three games in five days. These guys played their heart out, especially in the first half. I don't feel bad. I thought our kids did the best job they could.
basketball game lost relax time worry
We lost a game the other day because we couldn't focus. There was too much other (stuff) going around out there. This time they could relax and just play basketball and not worry about things.
changes guards guys improved philosophy reason team
The reason I feel we're a better rebounding team is we're more athletic. That changes the whole philosophy of things. And all our guys rebound; our guards get after it and our big guys have improved in that area, too.
equation game great phenomenal plan room shut
We had a great game plan of who we wanted to shut down. But the one we didn't have room for in our equation was Lowry. He had a phenomenal game. A phenomenal game.
court dominated kids shooting situations team time understand
This was the first time we dominated a team with Quincy not shooting well. These kids now understand what to do on the court in situations and they'll compete.
both deserved entire extremely fought hard teams throughout
This was a very, very, I want to say entertaining, but more so, hard-fought contest. Both teams fought extremely hard throughout the entire game. We feel we deserved to win, but they feel the same.
challenge double guys team type
We're the type of team that at times it's a challenge for us to score. What I tell my team is we want two other guys to (score) double figures. We don't know who that may be, we just need two other guys to contribute.
basketball came crap game kids lost relief running worry
You don't know how much of a relief (it was). I thought our kids came out and relaxed. We lost a game (to St. John's) the other day when there was too much other crap running around out there. This time, they could just play basketball and not worry about other things.
best gotta scary seen three time walks
You gotta understand, I've been with him for three years and I've seen a lot of things go down. The thing I do know is he's getting better and better each time he walks on the floor. And I don't know if we've seen the best of him yet. That's the scary part of this whole thing.
credit game hard missing played point three trying
There's nothing to say. We played a game where we were down three starters. I give Quincy credit for trying to fight, but when you're missing your third- and fourth-leading scorers, it's hard to play like that. There was a point where we had three walk-ons on the court. It just makes it hard.
against bring emotion game great half intensity job kids knew playing plays team
This game was about intensity and toughness, and I knew Ollie would bring that to the table. I just thought our kids did a great job playing with emotion and intensity. That's something we didn't do in the first half against Providence, but understand, that was an oddity. This team plays hard.
aside follow lead practice pulled shows team time
This (game) shows you he's maturing, but at the same time it shows you his leadership. At practice Friday, I pulled Quincy aside and told him, 'You got to lead this team on this floor.' They follow his lead. He responded.
best forward goals move obtain realize
They were down, and there was some frustration. I made them realize that they can move forward and still obtain all the goals and objectives. I had to make them realize my situation. This is the best move for me.
