We had one of those nights where we shot the ball extremely well.

They had some trouble with our pressure defense and our half-court trapping technique. They are a great shooting team. We knew they could come back. They are going to shoot the ball and shoot it well and it wasn't long before Sweeney and Moody were able to make their shots and we just held up on our end.

Early in the year we would have been fouling in that situation. Toward the end of the year we've gone away from that.

Sometimes when adversity strikes in your life or in your sport, you have to rise to the occasion. I thought our kids did that tonight and I'm very proud of them for that.

We have a lot of kids back. What they accomplished this year with 14 wins was far, far better than I had ever dreamed. I thought they worked through some adversity. Most games we went into I thought we were the underdog, and I was very pleased with how they handled themselves.

Most kids don't take (the rivalry) too far. They want to beat one another obviously, but often times they are probably pulling for each other if they aren't playing against each other.

We just fell apart on execution. They threw a little trap on us and we did not execute. We got beat by a better team. That's all there is to it. We didn't execute the way we needed to execute, and they were better.

When you get 400 wins, it reflects the kids you've had in the past, it reflects the parents, it reflects the program itself, the coaches. We're just trying to win a basketball game. If it happens, it happens. If it doesn't, it doesn't.

It should hurt. If you are a competitor and you give everything you have, it's going to hurt. It always does. If it doesn't, then you didn't do much, you didn't leave it on the floor.

It was a team effort on the rebounds and I thought we shared the ball much better. We got the ball inside, we hit some outside shots.

We have quite a few guys back from that game. I think we'll be all right.

When I looked at film of Thursday's game, they did some things that really gave us trouble but they just missed shots. They were sending a lot of guys to the offensive board and (Mike) Hill was getting a lot of offensive penetration.

We thought we contained them fairly. They started missing some shots, and when that happens you start thinking about it more. It could have been a confidence thing.
