We played a lot smarter. We started off with a lot of fouls. I don't think we did a very good job of rebounding. The second half I thought we took care of that.

Over the years, to me at least, you can compete at a pretty high level with out big men. But if you don't have a point guard, it's tough.

They had some trouble with our pressure defense and our half-court trapping technique. They are a great shooting team. We knew they could come back. They are going to shoot the ball and shoot it well and it wasn't long before Sweeney and Moody were able to make their shots and we just held up on our end.

That team has a lot of shooters, has good size. It's a veteran team. We knew they were going to make a run. It was just a matter of could we withstand it and keep playing and fighting through it. There for a while we started getting in that turnover situation again. We were maybe trying a little too hard. I thought we caught our composure out there and got some leadership.

The one thing about this team right now is I think our chemistry is getting pretty decent. They want to play for each other. They get along. And that's good to see.

I think we're a better team now than the first time we played West and that's the main thing. West has a good outfit. We're going to be there on Tuesday and we're going to do what we can do.

I think there can be some differences (among the top point guards). But the biggest thing is the kid being able to take the ball under pressure and take it up the floor and get you into the offense.

Just a win feels great. We played a quality second-place team. This is the second second-place team we beat this year. Kaukauna was the other. The 400 wins just mean that I have had many hard working kids. I like to think that our kids are more of a blue-collar type. They may not be the best basketball players, but they give you 100 percent.

The last game we didn't have Meier and we played a poor first half. We had to fight back and took a two-point lead and got beat on a last-second possession and that was a tough loss for us. Tonight we had a chance to redeem ourselves and the kids did.
