We have to pay attention to details right now, and hopefully we can keep going, ... I just think they had to get down to business. They had to pay attention to the game itself and not all this side stuff and the stuff out on the street. They have to focus on playing baseball. That was my view of it. And I think they are starting to get that feel.
We have more than a week left before the season starts, and there is plenty of time for decisions like that to be made.
That year, you can put it in a capsule, ... After the trade, everything kind of fell into place. We won the league championship. You go to the World Series against the mighty Dodgers and you sweep them in four games. It was one of those years you just didn't dream about.
That way it's not hanging out there coming in out of the blue and I'd have to sit down. I don't want to sit down now. But it may not be a bad time.
That's what he did today and he looked pretty good.
That's the rule around here. They've all been told. It's been said more than one time.
That's tough to say because it just doesn't seem real. For them to accomplish that, you have to give them a lot of credit.
That's the only thing I'm concerned about right now - getting an answer as soon as possible.
I wasn't going to sit there and wait until he threw the game away in the first inning. You're going to pitch for me, you've got to throw strikes.
Who knows? No decision is going to be made as to whether he is going to play second base or left field today, tomorrow, the next day or when he comes back. Those decisions will be made before we leave Florida.
little banged up, so he gets the night off.
I wish that would be it, ... That's not even going to pay the taxes on it.
I think he needs a little bit more time. I appreciate him saying that. I appreciate the effort that he's put in to try to get himself back. But I think he's pushing it a little quickly. My advice to him is to take it easy, not rush it.
We have other people to look at this early in the spring.
