bottom finish games mentally players stepped tough
We're not mentally tough enough to finish games right now, and that's the problem. Their players ... stepped up when the game was on the line. That's the bottom line.
book bothered chance name senior sure
We didn't get his name in the book on Senior Day. He didn't start, and it really bothered me. I wanted to make sure he had a chance to start.
couple fault given plays stretch
We had a couple of plays down the stretch that we botched up that could've given us a better chance. But I can't fault our guys' effort, how they competed.
good north played road rough
We had a rough start. ... but we played a really good schedule. Going into North Carolina, we had been on the road a lot. That helped.
five games home knew league left liked means obviously tough win
We have five games left in league play. We're 6-5 (in the ACC). Obviously it's a tough stretch, but we knew that going in. Surely, we would have liked to win our two home games, but we didn't. That means we just have to find a way on the road.
assistant basketball growing league north special wake
Obviously, this was very special for me, growing up in North Carolina, growing up on ACC basketball and being an assistant in this league at Wake Forest.
good great playing win
Obviously, it's a great win for us. I just think we're playing with good poise, good patience.
carolina enjoy focus game guys happy home next north protect schedule today win
I told the guys after the North Carolina game that this is a big win and I'm happy for you. But we've got to enjoy it today and focus on Clemson. That's the most important game on the schedule because it's the next game on the schedule, and you have to protect your home court.
gonna gotta guys head ourselves ready six wins
It is what it is. It's gonna be very difficult. I don't think we look at it like it's over. We look at it like we gotta get guys ready to play, we do have six wins in the bank. We gotta keep our head up and get ready to go out and give ourselves a chance.
against biggest boost faith gave huge kids lost maryland obviously win
It's obviously a huge boost for us. The biggest thing for us is that even when we were struggling, our kids never lost faith or focus. The win against Maryland gave everyone confidence.
believe great guys job successful
Dave's done a great job of getting his guys to believe they can be successful in this league.
That's a bang-bang play. I'm not getting into that.
bottle couple happen hit kids nose providence situations time water
I've had a couple of those situations happen before to my teams. One time at Providence one of my kids got hit by a bottle of water and got his nose broken.
ability finally game seven shows starting takes together
Not having him the first seven ballgames, it showed. And it shows now when he's out of the game in our ability to get into the offense. It just takes a little time. I think we're finally starting to get together a little bit.
