I'd like to get out there, and I'll do anything I can to get out there Tuesday. I want to throw to some hitters. But they're saying if I don't take care of this and get rid of it, it could last and be around for weeks.

We had to answer to the media after the game, no matter what. There were obviously a lot of games last year, more than any in the past, that I would have rather just gone home as soon as the game ended, just sneak out of the clubhouse and not even show my face, but that's not the way you're supposed to do it. You've got to be a professional, and that's part of it. That's how I was taught when I came up.

I was sitting at home today, and antsy and bored. So I got here early. It?s frustrating. You want to get it done. It?s your first start of the year. But everything was fine. I was ready to go at 7. Amazingly, two hours later, when I warmed up again I felt better than the first time.

I didn't think he was going to go away. It was a huge out. After 10 pitches to get that first out, it was probably the biggest out of the game.
