again antsy felt home hours ready sitting start
I was sitting at home today, and antsy and bored. So I got here early. It?s frustrating. You want to get it done. It?s your first start of the year. But everything was fine. I was ready to go at 7. Amazingly, two hours later, when I warmed up again I felt better than the first time.
ball finds funny takes
The ball finds holes, takes funny bounces, but there are no excuses.
change speeds throw tried work
After that (home run) I tried to put up zeroes, work fast, change speeds and throw strikes.
crawl figure forget hole trying
Again, I'm not getting it done, ... It's frustrating. I've been trying to figure it out all year. It's one of those things I can't explain. I'm embarrassing myself. I'd like to just crawl into a hole and forget what's happened.
time worked
I'm not getting it done, ... It's frustrating. I try to give it everything I can every time out. But it hasn't worked out.
bad couple jam liked might runs six stay turn
It was a bad first couple innings, but I was able to turn it around there. I would have liked to have been able to try to get out of that jam there in the fifth. I put us in that situation, and you never know what can happen. As a competitor, you'd like to stay out there and keep it at six runs and we might have had a shot.
bottom hitting matter sixth strikes throwing tough
It was one of those nights, ... I had things working. It was just a matter of getting ahead, throwing strikes and getting the first out. They've got a tough lineup. When you have Howard hitting sixth or seventh, you've got some big boppers at the bottom of the lineup.
good relax strikes throw
That seven-run inning was the key. We got a good lead, and I was able to relax and throw strikes and go right at them.
early gave nice
We got that nice early lead, and I gave it right back up.
answer came clubhouse games gone home last matter media obviously rather sneak soon supposed taught
We had to answer to the media after the game, no matter what. There were obviously a lot of games last year, more than any in the past, that I would have rather just gone home as soon as the game ended, just sneak out of the clubhouse and not even show my face, but that's not the way you're supposed to do it. You've got to be a professional, and that's part of it. That's how I was taught when I came up.
excited forward last looking next time wrong year
Especially after the year I had last year, I don't want to get off on the wrong foot. Things couldn't be better right now. I'm very excited and looking forward to the next time out.
bad good hard trying turn work
I've been trying to give it everything I've got to work hard and turn this thing around, ... I've had some good outings, but they've been overshadowed by the bad ones.
family five longer longest seen telling three today weeks
Someone was just telling me today that he hadn't seen his family for five weeks. That's tough. Two to three weeks is the longest I've ever been away from my family, and I wouldn't want to have to go any longer than that.
focus nice puts relax
A seven-run inning really puts you at ease. You can go out and relax and focus on what you have to do. It's nice to have a lead.
