early gave nice
We got that nice early lead, and I gave it right back up.
bad good hard trying turn work
I've been trying to give it everything I've got to work hard and turn this thing around, ... I've had some good outings, but they've been overshadowed by the bad ones.
excited forward last looking next time wrong year
Especially after the year I had last year, I don't want to get off on the wrong foot. Things couldn't be better right now. I'm very excited and looking forward to the next time out.
clicking good quality roll
We've got quality pitchers. When you have that and you have our offense, that's a good combination. ... Once we get on a roll and get clicking - we're doing well now, but I think it's only going to get better.
felt good
I was going good and I felt good,
ball struggled
I struggled to get the ball down. I got steamrolled again. One thing led to another.
again antsy felt home hours ready sitting start
I was sitting at home today, and antsy and bored. So I got here early. It?s frustrating. You want to get it done. It?s your first start of the year. But everything was fine. I was ready to go at 7. Amazingly, two hours later, when I warmed up again I felt better than the first time.
care last rid saying throw
I'd like to get out there, and I'll do anything I can to get out there Tuesday. I want to throw to some hitters. But they're saying if I don't take care of this and get rid of it, it could last and be around for weeks.
crawl explain guess man
I can't explain it, ... I guess you have to take it like a man but I'm embarrassing myself. I'd like to crawl in a hole.
answer came clubhouse games gone home last matter media obviously rather sneak soon supposed taught
We had to answer to the media after the game, no matter what. There were obviously a lot of games last year, more than any in the past, that I would have rather just gone home as soon as the game ended, just sneak out of the clubhouse and not even show my face, but that's not the way you're supposed to do it. You've got to be a professional, and that's part of it. That's how I was taught when I came up.
difference tons watched
We watched tons of film, and I couldn't see much of a difference of what we could come up with,
maybe sticking
It?s maybe a different angle. It?s been working so far, so I?m sticking with it.
proud seems
It's nothing I'm proud of, but it seems to have become a part of my game, ... It's not something you try to do, obviously.
bad couple jam liked might runs six stay turn
It was a bad first couple innings, but I was able to turn it around there. I would have liked to have been able to try to get out of that jam there in the fifth. I put us in that situation, and you never know what can happen. As a competitor, you'd like to stay out there and keep it at six runs and we might have had a shot.
