ball heck hitting impact mind offensive playing shooting today training
He's been playing like that all of training camp, ... Hitting the offensive glass, getting put-backs; he's very aggressive. He stroked the ball today -- he's been getting better at shooting the basketball. He's made a heck of an impact on my mind about where he's at with our team.
control doubt game hell hurts terrific
He's a terrific player. He hurts you from the three. He hurts you from the post. We wanted to see if he could control the game one-on-one. He's very focused. He's a hell of a player, no doubt about it.
create execute last offense oriented personnel pressure remember team
We have to be balanced, ... We have to execute on offense but, at the same time, we have to play better defense. We have to remember who we are. I'm going to go with my strength. If I think that we're a pressure team that's going to create turnovers like we did last year, that's what we'll do. If I think we have the personnel to be a little more physical, to be a little more half-court oriented and not press as much, that's what we'll do. A lot of it is about personnel.
best dangerous defended distracted good lost offensive team
We lost to a very good team, a very well-coached team, and a team that has a lot of dangerous pieces. We did the best we could, but we got a little disorganized and distracted on the offensive end. For the most part we really defended well.
allowed floor happen last serious sure
Our last practice, our last shoot-around, just weren't serious enough. I allowed things to happen out on the floor that I should have stopped. I'll make sure it won't happen again.
bit changing game hand lost momentum played shots
Give them credit. I thought they played well. They made shots with a hand in their face. There was a part in the game when the momentum was changing a little bit and we lost our composure.
ask chance fought gave hard looked ourselves outside since win
He's had it going from outside ever since January. It looked like it was going in. I thought we fought hard and we gave ourselves a chance to win at the end, which is all you can ask for.
confidence feels good healthy knows question rotation rough
He has had a rough year, no question about it. But he knows that he's in the rotation now, and he feels good about his game. I think he's as healthy as he's been all year, and he knows we have confidence in him.
assassin basketball belief focused good job lead player playoff team three victories
How will he react? Will he be focused to lead this team the right way to as many victories as we can get? Will he sulk for three weeks? My belief is that he'll be a focused assassin -- a focused basketball player to get the job done and lead this team to a good playoff position.
bum defense great knee playing tonight win
He was out there tonight with a bum knee playing defense and being the quarterback for us. His will to win is why the great ones are great.
admire trying
I admire his competitiveness. As much as I admire it, I thought that he was trying too hard.
emerged fighting leader leads major paint score stretch team verbal wants win
He wants to win - that is his No. 1 priority. He is a leader for this team in a different way. He is not loud, verbal or demonstrative, but he leads by gutting it out and fighting for rebounds. He can score from the outside, in the paint and on runners. He has emerged as a major leader for us during this stretch of games.
brief conversation extent played sure
He just said, 'OK, Coach,' and that was the extent of it. It was a very brief conversation, and he was agreeable. I'm sure he's going to be professional. He's always played well under these circumstances. He's always responded the right way on the floor.
assigned defensive embracing role
He is really embracing the role that we assigned him as the defensive captain.
