amazing area best families game hoping positive practices turn
That's the amazing thing. We've had some of our best practices this week. We are hoping that some of the families who have evacuated to our area will be at the game Monday. So it may turn out to be a positive for us.
dwell learning losing move positives
I like to do a lot of learning during a win. But losing is a part of football. It is where we are at. We have to learn from this loss, take the positives and move on and not dwell on the negatives.
assistant channels coach football heard proper time
I just know that we did the right thing, ... We called an assistant coach and said that we heard that football may not be going on at Tulane, and we would like to go through the proper channels when the time comes.
best build continue handle job mostly positive prepared program ready ship steered team
I prepared to handle it the best way I could for my team and for my school. And I thought I did that. I was really disappointed in the loss, but mostly disappointed in myself. By getting the team ready to play, it is my job to keep this ship steered right, and I am going to do that in a positive way. We will continue to build a championship program here.
deep exactly good learns trust
He's really a good athlete. He's exactly what we thought he would be when we recruited him. The more he learns the defense, the more we'll be able to trust him back there on the deep ball.
chance excited great lots
We had a chance to look at the film and lots of corrections need to be made. We are excited to go out and have a great practice.
gained guys
When you play football, those things are going to happen. But we have some guys who have gained some experience, so we'll be fine.
guys
When you play ball, that's going to happen. We've got some guys that are experienced. We're going to be fine.
conditions lay protect recruit
When a recruit comes in or commits, we lay out everything all the do's and don'ts and conditions of that (scholarship offer). We have to protect ourselves. Protect the program.
given plays
We didn't play well on the corners, and their receivers made plays we hadn't given up most of the year.
advantage bit
We are going to take a bit of an advantage and recruit,
couple defense excuse fitting good guys including needs passing players run
Our run defense has not done well, and there is no excuse for that. We aren't fitting well, and we have a couple of new players in there, who aren't as good as the guys who are injured. On offense, our passing game, including the protection, is not where it needs to be.
chance michael obvious robert
Robert had his chance, ... He may have his chance again, but right now, I feel Michael Spurlock is the better quarterback. It was obvious tonight.
basic brought california coach hopefully offense parts spend time work
I think we need to get back to the basic fundamental parts of our offense that I brought with us from USC, ... I was able to spend some time in California with Coach Carroll and those guys. Hopefully we can work out some of the kinks we have on offense.
