Emily is the hardest working player I have seen. There is no doubt that Columbia State is getting a great player.
Dunbar had a great first half, scoring with a hand in her face. But we hoped she would wear out with Kingma on her in the second half. I think all our pressure paid off at the end of the game.
We did a great job taking care of the ball.
We got off to a great start and I'm really proud of junior walk-on Nicole Barnett, who set a career high on floor and tied Julie Dwyer for the team's high score. We had a great finish under pressure, but unfortunately, the problems on the middle two events much closer than anyone from Auburn would have liked.
This was a great match that came down to one stroke at the end. We had every chance to win, but just couldn't find the way to come out in front.
We've had a lot of rain up at our place, so it's great to see some sunshine. Coming down here is like a vacation and playing baseball. It's two things that we love.
I think you get great strength from hearing from others and knowing that you're not by yourself.
Our police officers are out there risking their lives. The least we can do is help the family they leave behind. We can also show our appreciation to the officers who are still with us. Morale is not at its highest with budget cuts, and while we can't pay them, we can come out and show how much we believe in them and support them. We have a great bond with our precinct, but it is just like telling your wife you love her. You can't just say it once and forget. You need to keep these bonds strong.
Haley had a huge night. She and Nicole had a great game defensively.
I heard a great explanation from Debbie Colberg, the volleyball coach at Sacramento State. She said the reason coaches scream is not for the kids, it is for the adults. If a kid screws up, yelling lets everyone know that, 'I didn't teach the kid to do that.' There's a feeling that I've got to yell or people won't think I am coaching.
Great cultural conversation used to show up in poems and essays. It's alive and well but in superficial places like commercials.
We weren't prepared to take the risk last week with David Johnson, in saying that he's had about two weeks of really solid training where we've really given him a huge amount of work, tried to put match conditioning into him to see if we got through last week, and we have to wait and see whether we choose to play him this week.
We were planning to build another hangar, but the cost of building materials has gone through the roof.
We lose sight of the fact that this is a lawsuit under specific statutes, and that certain activities have to constitute a violation under those statutes.
