The Madden NFL franchise holds a special place in popular culture and the cover is a coveted position for players all over the league. I'm honored to be the first cover athlete chosen by Madden NFL fans and it's a great way to cap off an amazing year for the Saints and the city of New Orleans.
What can you say about L.T. that hasn't already been said other than he's obviously a special player and somebody we rely on quite a bit in everything we do, in the running game, the passing game and just as an offense,
It doesn't matter who is coming in. We just need a win. He's a good player and he's having a good year. They're a tough team. We have our work cut out for us.
I think it's still at the point of learning how to finish games. I feel like last year we did a good job of it. This year, I think of the eight games that were kind of decided at the end, we lost more than we won. Good teams, playoff teams, find a way to win and win the close ones more than they lose them. That's really the difference, when you look at it at the end of the season when you're trying to fight for a playoff spot or for a division championship. Unfortunately, we were on the losing end of those. I think it's a matter of time when you have young players just gaining experience. You learn how to win.
He's a guy who's only going to get better experience. He's a guy I think is going to be an impact player for us down the road.
I played with Rodney, I know what a leader he is, ... It's not only the physical things he does. It's the leadership, the mental toughness, what he imparts to his teammates. I know they've been able to put in a lot of subs over the years and not miss anything, but a player like Rodney is something special.
I'm ecstatic to be here another year and to build on the momentum of last year, ... I think I just scratched the surface as a player and the team is just scratching the surface.
This whole thing with San Diego, when I went into the off-season, I thought for sure I'd still end up with the Chargers. I think that was a shocker for everybody, including myself. Even up to recently, I thought something was going to happen.
We thought about taking a ride in his car,
The only team that believed in me was the Saints, and I feel like I owe them a great debt of gratitude. I want to give them what they saw in me-a guy who could lead this team to a championship.
We've got something special going here. We want to keep it going. You don't have many opportunities like this, and the window of opportunity for us is now.
Camping in the backyard last night for Father's Day! Wrestling, stories, s'mores...it was awesome!
I expect to win out there.
I hope our hopes and aspirations are bigger than setting records.
