act fear stand valley
Act in the valley so that you need not fear those who stand on the hill.
man none small stretch tall
No man is so tall that he never need stretch and none to small that he never need stoop.
ancestors brag unworthy
They brag most of their ancestors who are unworthy of them
farther row sail
Don't sail out farther than you can row back
bells great hears ringing
While the great bells are ringing no one hears the little ones.
child cry
Better the child cry than the old man.
fool men remains silent
A fool is like all other men as long as he remains silent
barks dog honest man worse
An honest man is not the worse because a dog barks at him
enemy friend thy
Tell nothing to thy friend which thy enemy may not know
grunt pigs
Young pigs grunt as as old pigs grunted before them
oneself others speak
One should speak little with others and much with oneself
neighbor neighbors rich
No one is rich enough to do without a neighbor
caught places visit
No one can be caught in places he does not visit
afraid ashamed asking learning
One who is afraid of asking is ashamed of learning
