beauty caring connection critical experience family good hard hunting introduce joy mentoring number older outdoor people preaching takes today
The critical thing addressed here today is that there are a good number of people who do not have a family connection to hunting or the outdoors. It takes a caring older person to introduce a young person to the outdoor life. That is the beauty of the mentoring concept. It can be a hard thing to see the beauty and the joy of the outdoor experience all on your own, at least initially. Much more has been accomplished here today that preaching to the choir.
cover elvis next proud smart stuff
The stuff I write I'm very proud of, but I'm smart enough to know I'll never get on the cover of 'Rolling Stone' next to Elvis Costello.
best doctors fortune masters people reality
I just want people to know they are the masters of their own fortune and misfortune. A lot of us think that doctors and drugs are going to control and help us, but the reality is we're our own best doctor.

care dad happened legs powerful run

maybe people sing soulful
I just wanted to show people - maybe I'm wrong - that I can still really sing. I can sing better than I ever have before. My intonation is way better, my timing, my phrasing - there's a lot more expression; I feel it's a more lived-in, soulful voice.

bringing died life man mine missed sort understand
I missed my father so much when he died that writing about his life and mine was a way of bringing him back to life and getting me to sort of understand more about him and what made him the father, the husband and the man that he was, and how that made me the man, husband and father that I am.

In 1953, Mom and Dad, living in Toronto, discovered, to their shock, that Mom was expecting. I was born in June 1954. My parents, thrilled, showered me with love.

Due to my work as a musician, songwriter, recording artist and author, hundreds of people stream in and out of my basement studio to help me with my creative projects.
diabetic double knowing meet seeing slowly
It was a double jolt for me. The jolt of seeing my father slowly die, the jolt of knowing that I was diabetic and could meet the same fate if I didn't take care of myself.
