We only know one way to play, and that's hard, and that's for the win. We can't play any other way.
We were running around having fun. We were pretty much playing pre-season minutes, which is working out well.
We don't like to rely on it, but everybody knows we can turn it on. We're one of those teams that have an extra gear on both ends.
We come out this way and it's an advantage to have him and his staff because they've been in this conference for 10 years, and they know all these teams and all these players, all their tendencies. We know the basic stuff about these teams. We know what they like to do -- meat and potatoes. But they know them inside-out.
We came out aggressive, trapping and running around, having fun, and guys were making shots. It was fun.
We got longer, younger and more athletic. This year we played a little more up-tempo than we did last year.
We wanted to get back to playing Pistons basketball. We got caught up in the wrong tempo in Dallas, but tonight we played our game.
We wanted to get back to playing Pistons basketball, ... We got caught up in the wrong tempo in Dallas, but tonight we played our game.
Both teams wanted to win this game in the worst way. It was kind of an ugly game, but the intensity was there. This was a playoff game. It really was.
It's unbelievable how far along that kid is. I've never seen nothing like that before in my life. He's really got a gift. He's got a gift, and he's using it very well. He's very graceful. I love watching him.
It's true. He had this. He drove this Rolls-Royce. He chose to change up. It is what it is.
It's not like a switch that I turn on (in the NBA Finals). I just want to be aggressive. The shots were going down for me.
It's nothing. Nothing really, just trying to win.
For me, it was like, whatever happens, just let it happen. I was tired of it. We was holding out hope that he would be back, but what can you do? I wish all that wasn't circulating when we was trying to win a championship, you know what I'm saying, if it had just happened at the end of the season, but it didn't really affect us.
