felt focus locked main mechanics rhythm slowing throwing tried
Today, my main focus wasn't as much on mechanics as much as just slowing myself down. I get a little anxious, especially with my slider, because I haven't been throwing it a lot. I tried to get into a better rhythm throughout, and when I got to my slider, I felt a little more locked in.
chance crank doctors feeling figured forward looking pay start throwing wait weeks
I'm feeling strong. I'm looking forward to getting a chance to start throwing and crank it up a little bit. The doctors told me to wait these two weeks and so we figured we should listen. I think it will pay off.
extra moving pressure puts setbacks sure throwing time
I'm progressing. I'm doing everything but throwing off the mound. I think that's what puts the most pressure on the back, so that's why we'll take a little extra time to make sure that when I get out there, there's no setbacks and we can keep moving forward.
excited hard seen
I've seen how hard he's worked. I'm really excited to see him go out there.
great healthy help honor pitching thoughts
It would be a great honor pitching in something like that. But all my thoughts right now are on getting healthy and being able to help the Yankees.

I won't even look at video from last year.
feels innings
It feels fine. I'm very eager. I want to go out there and do my job, go out there and pitch, put up innings and wins.
feels point
It feels a lot better. That was the point of it.
consistent felt gave good home poor tried
It felt good out there. I thought I was pretty consistent in the zone. I used all my pitches. I gave up a home run, but it was just poor execution. I just tried to be too aggressive.
expect gets good guys players respect
I think he's a good fit. He's got the personality, gets the most out of his players and the respect out of his players. He's going to expect a lot and I think guys are going to want to play for him.
ball convince games maybe mind playing starts trying
I thought I could get through it. Your mind starts playing games with you. You say to yourself, 'Maybe it's in my head. Maybe I'm not really hurt.' You start trying to convince yourself. ... Sometimes, they just have to take the ball away from you.
controlled eight emotions excited good zone
I thought I controlled the zone pretty good for someone who hadn't pitched in eight months. I thought I controlled my emotions pretty well, as excited as I was to be out there.
anxious consistency definitely last seeing six year
Yeah, I've been anxious for six months. I feel great. The consistency is there, and that's something I didn't have at all last year. I'm definitely seeing things this year that I didn't see from myself at all last year, and that's the most encouraging thing about it.
felt good
I felt good today. I just feel like I'm getting better and better, to tell you the truth.
