club equally gone hope longest quite seen team
I've never had a team in (a funk) like this for this long. It's gone on quite a while, the longest I've seen a club go through. The only thing you can hope is when we come out of it, it's for equally as long.
heck honest hope sure team
To be honest with you, I sure hope so. They have a heck of a team over there.
certainly involved league likes obviously passion signed team transition tried york
I think Mike's got something to prove. Obviously in New York they tried to make him do the transition to first. He could've signed with an American League team and been a (designated hitter). It certainly would've been a lot easier. But he likes to be involved with the game, he likes catching. He has a passion for it.
behind comfort given great helped pitching staff stepped team
The pitching staff has a sense of comfort with him. He has stepped in and done a great job. He has helped stabilize this team behind the plate, and given us some offense, too.
ball best card hot pitching playing teams wild
It's whoever's playing the best ball at the time, who's clicking, pitching the best, playing the best ball. That's why you have Wild Card teams get hot at the end and keep going.
against good hard record team teams
We know how good a team they have. Some things are hard to explain. There are some teams we should have a better record against and don't.
appreciation bases consider military ourselves san sunday teams troops
We have so many military here. This is our way to show our appreciation to our forces. We like to consider ourselves as the military's teams with all the bases we have in San Diego. It's an honor. Every Sunday we have the troops out at the ballpark. This is something we do with honor.
devastated division everybody hard hit injuries loses sight since struggled team
I think it's been a while since there's been a division that's struggled as much as us, or has been devastated by injuries as much as we have. I think sometimes everybody loses sight of how hard every team has been hit by injuries.
good shut team
He's as good as anybody. We aren't the first team he has shut out this year.
closing fair job teams widening wins
I'll be honest, it's fair to say we're disappointed we haven't done a better job of getting more wins and widening the gap, ... It is what it is. I think some other teams are disappointed they haven't done a better job closing the gap.
ball granted took
took for granted that the ball went out and he tossed it into the stands. He thought it was out. That's why he did what he did.
balls batting bullpen gives practice sure track
We just wanted to make sure we get our bullpen back in order. It gives him (Cameron) a day to track down balls and take batting practice and he's going to go tomorrow.
approach granted greatest hitters hopefully mean past pitches quality swinging treat
We're going to approach him the way we always have and just take for granted that he's going to be swinging the way he usually swings. I mean this guy's one of the greatest hitters of all time, so we're not going to treat him any differently. We'll try to approach him the same way we have in the past and that's to make quality pitches and hopefully not make a mistake.
approach greatest hitters pitches playing quality
We're going to approach him like we always have, as if he's been playing all season. This guy's one of the greatest hitters of all time. You want to make quality pitches and not make mistakes.
