Every time I'm tempted to respond to someone who tries to put me in a box, politically - you know, someone who gets on the Internet and says, you're pro-gun, or you're anti-gun - I stop and say to myself, 'This is great; this is what I wanted. I wanted to be the guy you can't figure out.'
My dad was president of the volunteer fire department, which was within walking distance to our house. I spent several days of each week there with him - any time the whistle blew, he went. It was truly inspiring to watch him lead that way.

I don't know where I get it from. My family has no sense of humor, none. It's a genetic mutation, I guess. I tried drawing naked pictures when I was in the third grade. You'd have seen how funny my mom was then. Or when I took a bat to a car my dad had been buffing all day. He's not funny.
I don't have any interest in doing something that's weak musically.
Some artists would rather go in there and let some other things dictate the kind of record they do, but I've got such a great team.
There are many things I can improve on. I'm challenged every day, and I still want to work hard and earn what I've been afforded.
It surprises a few people, we have a full string orchestral intro on the album. I think this album is what a sequel should be. It goes to a new place.
