I never thought I'd be singing this for my friend.
I want to impress everybody who bought a $30 ticket to the concert.
I feel it's our obligation to keep some of the soul in this music. Having a career in this industry is a privilege. It's not a given, ever.
I'm excited for people to hear the album. I'm looking forward to them being able to pop it in their car radio and listen to it, ... I'm not even worried about it at this point. I'm done now. I told the people at the label, 'It's up to you guys now. I'm going on vacation.'
I know who the people are who come to my shows and buy my records now. It's always a good thing to think of those faces when I'm picking songs for a show or an album. I really do want to please them, these wonderful people who finance our 'dream.' In that way it can be a good thing, all this attention. You know your fans better.
The days get boring. The thing I like least would be the traveling. It's never fun to check baggage three or four times in a couple days.
