fastball hitter home plate regular run seen throw trying
I haven't seen the replay, ... Obviously, it got a lot of the plate. But that's what I was trying to do. I was trying to throw a fastball over the plate because I know he isn't a home run hitter in the regular season. He hit zero, right?
chance fall throw
I just didn't want to fall behind, 3-and-1, ... and take a chance of him getting on base. So I just wanted to throw a strike.
expecting game guys might throw
In the past, guys might be wailing away expecting a fastball, but now that they know I throw so many sliders, it's different, ... This is a game where you have to make continual adjustments and get better all the time. Otherwise, you're going to be struggling.
inspire playing
If we weren't playing for anything, I don't know if he'd be doing this. It's got to inspire everyone to see him out there.
team winning winning-and-losing
You win and lose as a team.
games people may
I don't have anything to prove at all. I've pitched in a lot of games. I've had far more good games than bad games in the postseason. I know that some people may not remember that, for whatever reason.
jobs winning guy
I'm not going to be a guy who does dances after he strikes somebody out. I'm not like that. I just want to secure a win. That's my job.
baseball moving games
The game of baseball between pitcher and hitter sets up like a game of chess in that you have to anticipate several moves ahead to set up your opponent.
guy want
I want to be a guy who can be relied upon.
waste whole
It doesn't make a whole of sense to me to waste pitches.
waiting looks aggressive
If they know you're a nibbler, they're going to wait and look for that. Hitters have to be more aggressive if you're more aggressive.
houston colorado stranger
When you're a pitcher for the Houston Astros and a stranger notices you in a mall in Colorado, you know things have really changed.
careers pitching improvement
When you're pitching, you always have to make continual improvements. You always have to better yourself throughout your career.
games want starters
Whenever you don't have a good game, whether you're a starter, reliever, whatever, you definitely want to get out there again as soon as you can.
