experience last playoffs team
We've been kind of a high-profile team the last two years. That experience of going through the playoffs has been important.
certainly cherish close coming opportunity relay
We've been close many times. So certainly I think you cherish the opportunity that you have coming here, and you try to relay that to the players.
lost remembers super win
We need to go and win one more game. No one ever remembers who lost the Super Bowl.
bring draft everybody free good happens hard hope maybe pick players special starting
We had a special group, but it's hard to bring everybody back. That happens every year. You hope to keep a good nucleus, draft well and maybe pick up some free agents. It's going to be a challenge, but I like where we're starting and the players we're starting with.
came city coaches happy special
We came a long way. This is a special organization and I'm happy for the players, coaches and the city of Pittsburgh.
comparison concerned game looked ready sit suddenly team threw throwing time year
We only threw it 11 times. It's not like we've suddenly arrived, I don't think. Too much comparison has been made to (the preseason). I'm not concerned with that. I'm not ready to sit there and say everything is set with one game ... For the first time this year we looked like a professional team throwing the football.
contract guys safety three
We only have three guys under contract at the safety position.
ball break eight guys hard line snapped teams tempo within worked
We've worked hard with our look teams about when they break the huddle, getting the ball snapped within eight to 10 seconds. These guys come up to the line of scrimmage and they're gone. It's different. We've worked on it all week. The guys are getting a sense of what the tempo is like.
credit
We really could not get a whole lot going offensively and I credit their defense.
ask backs ball certain chance curtail earned express front good gotten hit indeed offense opportunity patient people plays rather run runners running watch willie within
We don't ask people to run differently, ... Runners are runners. I never try to curtail a runner. Our offense has got enough plays that within the running play a ball carrier has a chance to express his ability. I think Willie has gotten more comfortable with the plays we've run. He's had a chance to watch some pretty good backs in front of him be patient on certain plays, hit it on certain plays. I think he's earned this opportunity if indeed Jerome can't go. I'm not concerned; I'm rather excited.
ask chance curtail express gotten offense people plays run runners running tried willie within
We don't ask people to run differently. I mean, runners are runners. I've never tried to curtail a runner. Our offense has got enough plays that, within the running play, a ballcarrier has a chance to express his abilities. I think Willie has gotten more comfortable with the plays we've run.
eat taking trust
Trust me, they're the ones taking him out to eat every week.
factor high level motivating performance played
We've played at a high level for a lot of years, and now they should have the same high expectations as we've always had. I think it should be a motivating factor to not let our performance slide.
challenged coach good players
But our players know. This is still Baltimore. They still have some good players, and their coach challenged them and they responded.
