Those who consciousness is unified abandon all attachment to the results of action and attain supreme peace. But those whose desires are fragmented, who are selfishly attached to the results of their work, are bound in everything they do.
carried desires gods practice religious resort various whose wisdom
They, whose wisdom has been carried away by various desires impelled by their own deeds, resort to other gods and practice various religious rites.
bliss desires free mind supreme whose yogi
Supreme bliss comes to a Self-realized yogi whose mind is tranquil, whose desires are under control, and who is free from sin.
burned desires fire free karma sage selfish whose works
A person whose all works are free from selfish desires and motives, and whose all Karma is burned up in the fire of Self-knowledge, is called a sage by the wise.
deity desires faith steady whatever worship
Whosoever desires to worship whatever deity with faith, I make their faith steady in that very deity.
attains creating desires enter full material mind objects ocean peace river waters whose
One attains peace in whose mind all desires enter without creating any disturbance, as river waters enter the full ocean without creating a disturbance. One who desires material objects is never peaceful.
delusion desires hates neither nor presence
One who neither hates the presence of enlightenment, activity, and delusion nor desires for them when they are absent.
attains becomes desires feeling free longing
One who abandons all desires and becomes free from longing and the feeling of 'I' and 'my' attains peace.
alone constantly control desires free mind seated senses solitude supreme yogi
Let the yogi seated in solitude and alone having mind and senses under control and free from desires and attachments for possessions, try constantly to contemplate on the Supreme Self.
bind desire fruits works
Works do not bind Me, because I have no desire for the fruits of work.
content lives minds remain talking unto
With their minds absorbed in Me, with their lives surrendered unto Me, always enlightening each other by talking about Me; they remain ever content and delighted.
becomes due fixed listen mind overcome shall
When your mind becomes fixed on Me, you shall overcome all difficulties by My grace. But, if you do not listen to Me due to ego, you shall perish.
attain confused doctrine firm opinions shall stay steady
When your intellect, that is confused by the conflicting opinions and the ritualistic doctrine of the Vedas, shall stay steady and firm with the Self, then you shall attain Self-realization.
attains faith gained gains mastery supreme
The one who has faith, and is sincere, and has mastery over the senses, gains this knowledge. Having gained this, one at once attains the supreme peace.
