I feel like I've been playing so well the last couple of weeks, ... I knew coming in here I had a chance to win this event for the fifth time. I've had it in the back of my mind. It only happens maybe once, so you have to take advantage of it.
I did miss a few in the middle of the round, but when you make some, it feels better,
I did make an incredibly hot start to the year and to have won eight times worldwide means I've had a great season,
Throughout this season, we've played against each other and now it'll be great to team with her as a partner.
You have to hit it a long way, be able to spin the ball. It will take an extraordinary woman, an extraordinary athlete. Maybe down the road there will be someone like Michelle who wants to go.
This was the best I've played all week.
You can never really win a tournament on the first day, but I feel sometimes there's a chance you can lose it by shooting a high score. So I'm very happy with this start. It was really the start I wanted.
When people talk about me as a favorite, that's a nice thing, that's a positive,
But then there's a little part of me that says, 'You know what? I still think I can get better, I still think I can do this and that.' That's what keeps me going.
Naturally, I'm pleased with my season in many different ways and especially because I've played less tournaments and still won so much,
It puts a premium on ball-striking and it's going to put a premium on the short game. And that's what majors should do.
For me, it's important to play good at the end of the year,
It's only Thursday; I have three more days. I'm looking forward to it. I still feel good about my game. Today it was almost. It was very, very close, but not really it. And right now, I don't really know what I've got to do to make it a great one, maybe make a few putts, maybe hit a few drives.
It's obviously very satisfying. It's a big week for many reasons.
