ball bite court seemed service
It just seemed like I couldn't get the ball to go through the court like I would have liked. It was difficult. I wasn't getting much bite on my service action. It was frustrating.
against court good hard max miss played serves
Max played well. He always serves good and didn't miss many volleys. Sometimes you don't feel you're on the court against him. It can go by so quickly, it's hard to find a rhythm.
ball came court felt guy hit last ripping thinking tonight winners
It's just a little frustrating right now. I felt like tonight I actually hit the ball better than I have over the last two weeks. I came off the court not really thinking I did a whole lot wrong. The guy was pretty much ripping winners from all angles.
ask court interest kindness people presence
It's kind of like a tightrope, ... You have a presence because of what you do between the lines. I don't want people to think I'm just out there doing things like, 'Look at me: I'm a big deal.' But then you go back and ask yourself, 'Am I doing enough away from the court to keep the interest there in the sport?'
almost court follow four games glad good high percentage pressure return returns serve service
It was good 'cause I wanted to return well. I feel like after the first four games of the match, I really started doing that. I put a high percentage of returns in the court and put pressure on him almost every service game. And if I can do that, it will make my serve look that much better to the other guys. I'm glad I was able to follow through on our game plan.
court doubles game hands knowledge left
His hands never left, his feel never left and his knowledge of the game never left. On a doubles court that works.
bit loving sure
I'm sure with a little bit of TLC (tender loving care) it'll be okay.
cup days masters optimistic
I'm not as optimistic about the Masters Cup as I was two days ago,
early form great happy hitting knew tough
I knew it would be tough today, Tommy has been in great form early this year. I'm happy with the way I'm hitting the ball.
knew playing push third tough trying
I knew it was going to be tough because Tommy had been playing really well (and) ... he was trying to push that to a third set.
against corner elite form forward great looking playing surface turned
I'm looking forward to playing Tommy. He's been playing great. I feel like I'm playing well, I've turned the corner and this will be a great test. He's in form and on a surface he likes. I want to play well against an elite player.
couple days happen hear optimistic
It's still too early. I'm probably going to take a couple of days off. The thing that makes me a little optimistic is it didn't happen on one movement. I didn't hear anything click; I didn't hear anything snap.
asked committed cup davis olympics represent ultimate whether
It's sport's ultimate honor, whether it be the Olympics or any other international competition, to be asked to represent your country. I think that's why all of us are so committed to the Davis Cup cause.
form next ready sure trying
Everyone is trying to find their form and everyone is making sure they're ready to go next week.
