Max played well. He always serves good and didn't miss many volleys. Sometimes you don't feel you're on the court against him. It can go by so quickly, it's hard to find a rhythm.

It's good. I feel like I played well two matches in a row here against pretty good players. I haven't done that probably since last fall.

It's frustrating. I'm just getting stuck against the guy who's staking his claim to being the best ever. You think about that sometimes -- that you're getting better, but so is he.

It would add to the drama, ... I just don't see a lot of factors against it. It could really add to the game and take out the human-error aspect, which is out there.

This is probably the best I have played against him. He definitely played much better particularly with his volleying.

I haven't had an amazing serving day against him, ... I've played well against Roger from the baseline before, but I haven't had that monster serving day. That's what I'm looking for.

Hopefully it will make a big difference, ... Switching balls is a little thing, but it makes a big difference when you're playing against such good players. I didn't feel clean with anything I was doing up there in Montreal. Obviously getting here and getting used to the conditions four, five days in advance will make a huge difference.

If I'm being honest, not a lot. We're going to have to do some scouting. I was able to catch a little of the match against Tim today, but I'm going to try to ask around.

I'm looking forward to playing Tommy. He's been playing great. I feel like I'm playing well, I've turned the corner and this will be a great test. He's in form and on a surface he likes. I want to play well against an elite player.

You want to compete against the best and he is the measuring stick,

I made adjustments with him in mind. You have to make adjustments in mind and apply them to (Federer) and not lose what you're doing against other people. I still have to find a way to get there. (The adjustments) wasn't solely for him, but a lot of it was done with him in mind. I think that's the pressure, to his credit, that he has put on all of the guys.

I've tried to serve with a little bit more authority, ... I felt like I needed to become more aggressive. My aggression out there is my weapon.
