felt hopefully kicking looked ok ready second
I'm doing OK I hope. I only felt it at about 5-all in the second set. He was already kicking my butt before that. I'm going to get it looked at and hopefully it will be ready for New York.
awkward compete confidence further gained groove player second swung third
I let him get into a groove in the second set. He started getting confidence and swung from the hip. If I'd let it go any further in the third he would have gained a lot of confidence and momentum. He's an awkward player to compete against.
against apply lose mind solely
I made adjustments with him in mind. You have to make adjustments in mind and apply them to (Federer) and not lose what you're doing against other people. I still have to find a way to get there. (The adjustments) wasn't solely for him, but a lot of it was done with him in mind. I think that's the pressure, to his credit, that he has put on all of the guys.
beer mood
I'm in the mood for a beer right now,
I'm just f--g with you, ... I'm fine.
achievement great guys match win won
If I would have won a match when I was 17, that would have been a great achievement. Now if I don't win the tournament, you guys are going to be writing stuff,
further momentum third tough
If I would have let it go a little further in the third set, he would have had a lot of momentum and it would have been tough for me.
bad balls beginning change good momentum point second side stretch third time
I had a really bad stretch in the second set. I was dumping balls at one point. He had momentum on his side at that point and I thought it would be a good time to try and change it at the beginning of the third set.
competing matches needed
I needed to get some matches in and I feel like I am competing well,
coming confidence far head lose played regroup sign terrible
I like where my head was at as far as competing. I played terrible the first set, but I was able to regroup and not lose it. That's a sign of confidence coming back.
dropped fun hit percentage second tried work
It wasn't a whole lot of fun out there, ... I tried to at least hit a volley, make him work a little bit. And that started to work a little. His percentage dropped later, so I was getting a look at his second serve.
chicks
I've got some chicks out there, he's got some sweaty dudes.
good great start
It was a great way to start off, ... It was a pretty good all around performance.
best brother consider cup davis good people single team yours
It's what some people consider the best single Davis Cup team ever with (Jim) Courier, Agassi; (Pete) Sampras was on the team, but he wasn't good enough to play singles. That's how good this team was. Some brother of yours was there, too.
