We're trying to accomplish one goal. That's to get to the World Series. It takes everybody and today everybody contributed.

We've been battling and battling and battling. It's part of the season. You have to go through it. Hopefully we can get through it and get it out of the way.

We had 25 guys pulling for the same goal, and we didn't stop until we got there. We had a great thing happen to us. Here I feel we have a group of guys who want to play the game the right way, hard. I'm happy to be here.

We've played sloppy at times, and it's come back to bite us, but you have to try and look on the bright side. It's better to go through a stretch like this early and try to right the ship. If we dwell on what's happened so far, we're not going to be fully into Monday.

It's obviously an odd feeling being here and not being in uniform with the rest of the team. I spent a lot of years here. It's definitely an odd situation, but I'm definitely glad to be here to see the guys and share this experience with them.

It was one last hurrah with my friends. The hardest part about being traded is you feel like you're leaving your family.

Everybody wants to put a little more into it than what it is. Ultimately, my goal is to catch the ball. If something is in my way, so be it. My job out there is to catch balls.

It's going to take some getting used to. I think it will probably take me about a week to get adjusted to the way the ball carries here and the tendencies in the gaps. I've been trying to pay attention in batting practice and make sure I keep my eyes on the ball and make sure I get there before the ball comes down so I can make any adjustments if I need to.
everybody excited feels opening
It's sad, actually. Everybody should be excited about Opening Day, but it feels like we're under a cloud. It's a shame.
exciting good guys last time
It's even more exciting now than it would be if I was still on the team. It's going to be the last time I get to see the guys for a while. This will be a good reunion.
base clubhouse guys hit home lack looser pressure today took
It wasn't through lack of effort, it was just guys pressing too much. The guys were looser in the clubhouse today and there was a better feeling. Today was more of what we've been doing this year. We got guys on base and we hit some big home runs. That took a lot of pressure off us.
