I just worked really, really hard to stay in people's faces, so it would be hard to forget about me. I'm just trying to stay popular and do the same thing over and over.
Honestly, I'm just consumed by the work. Everyday, I'm trying to come up with new stuff and do new things. I don't take time off. I'm always recording and working on my brand beyond just the music.
I just try to keep that connection to normalcy. I never want to lose that, being normal. People connect with me just as a cool, around-the-way type of guy. I never want to confuse people or go over their heads.
Went from hated on to n-ggas trying to go down the same road I made it on.
I have a huge span of fans, some who know all my radio songs and are familiar with my popular stuff and then some who have their own personal favorites. When I do my show, I try to take into consideration all those people.
I sleep on my stomach with my head under a bunch of pillows so if someone wants to come in and try to kill me they can't tell if I'm there or not, so they'll just leave.
People connect with me just as a cool, around-the-way type of guy.
My dad has been a big influence on me, because he's always had his own business. He really taught me business sense and how to be a focused individual, but also how to have fun and make everyone around you have fun.
I like a lot of old-school R&B, soul, and classic rock.
I like to smoke, and when you smoke, things become less serious and you find the funny in things. So, even movies that aren't funny, they end up turning into comedies to me.
My live performance, it just comes from feeling an energy and emotion from the crowd. Just going out there and doing my own stuff and being in front of my own people. I love it.
I'm inspired by other people's creativity, just seeing things happen and wondering where they come from. That gets my mind going. Even if it's just wanting to know how something works.
It's always good to be recognized being the best new cat and then when I hold down my position and stay in the game for a minute, I want to see what kind of (expletive) I'm winning then.
I made my first mix tape when I was 14. I used to play basketball and ride bikes, but I think I just latched onto music because I figured I could be really good at it on my own.
