I can't come right out of the boot and step on the field. I really want to play in the playoffs. But it just doesn't make any sense to go out there and hurt myself even worse.

I can't believe that we always end up somehow toward the front at the end of a race ... this one in the closing laps after a long night of adversity, ... We changed batteries, the alternator had some troubles, flat tire, all kinds of crazy things.

I can't believe it. I've just got to roll with the punches and come back better than ever this year. I think I went through a lot of this stuff in 2003, mentally coming to grips with not playing.

I came out at halftime, looked around at all of the people who have supported us all season long in the gym tonight, and knew that we did not want it to end that way.

I don't like to lose at all, and I know we're capable of winning every match this weekend. I told the guys before the meet that I was confident we'd win every match. That didn't end up happening, but I'm still happy.

I don't need to go out there all the time and throw seven or eight innings. You might like it. I might like it. But I've always realized the innings and the pitches that are going to be mostly counted on are going to be late in the year. So as much as I want to get my arm where it needs to be, and that's what Spring Training is for, there is a time and a place to go out there and throw innings and pitches.

I don't mean it in a bad way, but my intentions aren't to be here for a full season. I want to move. I'm not a top five round kind of guy, so I feel like whenever I come out, I have even more to prove. If I have an average outing, it's kind of overlooked. Every outing I go out, I got to do my best.
