aggressive ball best coach felt few good hit looking next pitches pull smoke struck swing
I felt good out there. My first at-bat I struck out looking and wanted to be more aggressive in my next few at-bats. Coach Smoke (Laval) told me to just let it go and try to pull the ball and get my best swing off. My next two at-bats, I got two good pitches to hit and was able to pull them out of the park.
ball couple entire kept left living looking pitches
I was looking for a ball away the entire at-bat. I fouled a couple off, pitches that I could have hit. He kept living out there and left me one up that I could handle.
bad ball bounce chance game ourselves supposed sure team weekend
The ball doesn't always bounce the way it's supposed to bounce, and every weekend there's upsets, and I think that when you play a different team that's not in your league, there's always a chance that bad things can happen. We've got to make sure we don't do the things you do to lose. We think it's going to be a very competitive game and we are going to get ourselves ready.
ballot considered indicate ought teams
The ballot did two things. One was to indicate teams that you thought ought to be considered - 1 to 100 or as many as you thought ought to be considered. Another was teams that you thought ought to be in the tournament, period.
ball block catch fine football great nick run
It was great to see Nick catch the ball and run with the catch, ... I think he can be really a fine football player. On that TD run we didn't block many people.
asks ballot campaigns democratic general months poll primary special stock three voters
I'm not going to put any stock in a poll that asks voters what they think of a hypothetical ballot matchup that is 14 months and three statewide campaigns away. We've got to get through the special election, the Democratic primary and then a hypothetical general election.
bag ball catcher chances great guys job likes porter second team throwing
Their catcher (Porter) did a great job of throwing the ball to the bag and getting our guys early. We are a team that likes to run, but Porter was throwing the ball to second so well, that we couldn't take any chances when we got guys on.
ball catch fight poor squeeze step struggling throw tried yelling
We just tried to make every catch tough. We tried to fight him in the post, try to make them throw him a lob and try to squeeze him from the back side. He was struggling to get the ball and having to step out and take some poor shots. To me, that (Bryant yelling at his teammates) just let us know we did our job.
against ball came hit playoff ready
We hit the ball really well. We know what we are up against to make a playoff spot. We came out ready to go.
ball behind chance defense gave great job kept letting strikes throwing
Bo did a great job of throwing strikes and letting the defense to play behind him. He kept the ball low, and he gave us a chance to win.
ball break carry challenge decided earned ethic job legitimate people practice run runners starting work
That position, that's a challenge here at Stanford, to come up with legitimate runners that can make people miss, run people over and break long runs. We decided to give him a look and he did a representative job. I don't think you can say he's the only back who's going to play or even that he'll carry the ball most. He's earned the starting job because of his work ethic and responsiveness on the practice field.
ball best collective hard page played unit week wherever
Definitely, this is the best we've played as a collective unit. I think we were all on the same page this week and we were all going hard as one unit and swarming to the ball wherever it was.
balance balls finesse fly gets good ground hitting job keeping order spots teams throws walk
Sarah's done a real good job of keeping teams off balance and hitting her spots real well. She's a finesse pitcher, more or less. She throws well, she locates and she does the job that we need her to do. She gets the ground balls and fly balls and gets the outs. She's able to get you out and that's the key. She doesn't walk batters. You're going to have to hit your way on in order to get on.
ball hit
We don't hit the ball at the right time.
