I think I'll go in mentally a lot better. When it comes down to it, I don't think anyone really wants to play me because I have a lot of weapons and not a ton of weaknesses. My main weakness would probably be an occasional self-destruction mode. So I'll try not to touch that red button accidentally.
I feel a little more tired than usual, ... I've had to recover from everything, my illnesses and things this summer. It's not perfect circumstances, but I'm definitely going to be out there and hopefully have my letdown after the Open ... I think I'll go in mentally a lot better. Whoever is across the net, I want to win. Whoever that person is, that's the day I want to win.
I'm not a trend person. I don't want to look to my right and see somebody in the same thing.
My ambition is to enjoy my life and to do exactly what I want to do. And I'll do that. I will be free.
It's a great feeling to have accomplished what I have, but I want to do more.
I'm very disappointed, obviously. I just couldn't pull my game together.
Injuries are part of sports, but right now, (I'm) solid.
I knew she was watching when Serena won the U.S. Open and she's happy to see another black woman win in her lifetime.
I just wasn't used to getting beaten the way she beat me, ... Every time I step on the court, even if it's against Serena, I still feel like I should be the better player because, really, that's how we were raised to think when you came out on the court. So I guess that was probably a factor.
I'm feeling good, ... I think it was good for me to be away -- I think it extended my career. At this point I prefer to do tennis more than anything else.
I'm definitely in a lot better form than I was last year.
I'm really dedicated to getting my ranking up. I feel like, wow, I'm a very good player. There are all these people ranked ahead of me. After a while, I'm tired of being ranked low.
I'm just looking forward to more, I want to win another title -- starting here in Beijing.
