We finished in the top 10, so that is a real positive to take away from this season. To have three All-Americans is a real accomplishment. The kids battled hard; I'm really proud of them.

It's not like he's not at the level he needs to be to compete, he's just relaxing in some situations. You like the fact that he's confident and feels he can beat anyone in any position. But when he gets in trouble, though, he needs to learn to fight to get out of the situation he's in.

It's one of those things where there's not a whole lot you can say. You feel like your world's crumbling down. He's going through a lot of emotions right now. It's difficult.

Oh, man, what a tournament to be a spectator at with all the great matches. It's been so exciting with all the big upsets. (Today) won't be a day to be in the consolations with all of those guys coming back through.

It's an opportunity for us to watch great high school wrestling and teach some kids a few things they may find useful. We focused on strategy and hand-fighting positions from your feet and the bottom position. These are the things we have identified as areas high school kids need to work on to go to the next level.

When we came back, we had a good talk. It's disappointing to get a loss when you have five kids win and five kids lose. It puts a negative, somber note on the weekend. We're a good team, and we didn't wrestle as well as we should have. We need to wrestle with a sense of urgency and make the small adjustments.

That's why we really felt, if the other two kids could get to nationals, we could surprise some people and as a team do some things. Now, instead of going with 10, we'll have to do it with eight.

This performance this weekend, even though we had a win over Iowa, we aren't going to tolerate. We have to use this as a wake-up call. I'd rather have it here than at the NCAA tournament. It's going to be a long ride back home.
