bigger games guys played sharp specialty teams won
These two games were probably a lot bigger than even the guys realize. These were pretty big games. I don't think we played as well as we can play, but we did what we had to do to win. I thought our goaltending was very sharp when it had to be, and our specialty teams won (Saturday's) game for us.
best matter playing playoff point team worst
Right now, every game's a big game. It doesn't matter who you're playing. When you're in a playoff race, it doesn't matter if you're playing the best team or the worst team. Every point counts.
games guys pulling results speaks team winning
What they've done speaks for itself. They're a team with 18 guys pulling the same way. The results are pretty evident; they're winning a lot more games than they're losing.
anybody attitude bees career fun heavier last player pounds rink says situation stands symbolic team year
He's symbolic of what our team stands for. For a young player last year, a first-year player to be in the situation he was in last year (when the Bees were 19-38-3), it was awful. It wasn't fun to play hockey. It wasn't fun for anybody to go to the rink last year. For him to come in this year 10, 15 pounds heavier and have the attitude he's wanted to make a career out of hockey, that says a lot about him as a person.
game goal goals last loss minute mistakes played team third toughest turning
That's the toughest loss I've ever had. I'm kind of dumbfounded considering they're the team that played last night. You get a goal a minute into the third and they're doing it their way and they're losing. It's not everybody, but when we play our game plan, we're successful. We're making mistakes on little things that are turning around for goals for them.
knows less needs nobody
Everyone knows what's at stake. We have to come out and keep playing. Nobody needs to do anything more or anything less than they've been doing.
almost biggest carry focus guys home ice leave leaving next playing seven shift three traveling
Not playing at home for almost a month, this is something we can carry into the next seven games. Our biggest focus here the next little while is to leave everything on the ice because we don't have any three (games) in three (nights). We are traveling and out of town, but at the same time, we are traveling. Guys should be leaving everything every shift on the ice.
easy game last shut
It wasn't an easy year. Nothing was easy for this team. You look back from the All-Star Game to the last game of the year, and they could have shut (it) down, but they didn't.
days emotional game guys hard home needed realize settle shift takes
It was a pretty emotional two days around here. It was the first (playoff) game at home here for some of the guys. We needed a game like that that was hard fought. Now guys can settle in here and see what it takes to win, and realize you have to go here. Every shift of every game is huge.
guys learning lesson stick win
Tonight, I think that was as important a learning lesson as well as a win to show the guys here that if they stick with it, what they can accomplish.
bother good held power
We've held them on their power play, too. We've got good chances. I can't say that our power play didn't get good chances. It did. The power play doesn't really bother me.
bad checks finished good played stuck
We finished our checks and we played well and we stuck with it, through good shifts and bad shifts.
few score step third
Evan was very sharp. Come the third period, we were able to step up and score a few goals.
basically building game home
You basically look at we have a Game 7 in our home building (tonight).
