I've asked Sen. Ben Nevers to introduce legislation that would posture us to do that. He will pre-file the bill to create a new economic development district, but that doesn't mean we'll do it.

I'll be candid. The parish is not in a position to furnish a consultant at this time. That could run from $20,000 to $40,000. Leo Lucchesi will attend meetings and give technical assistance. We'll take it on a case by case basis to see if a consultant is needed.
