advantage airport bad cities commercial create definitely equality flights great larger planes private rule
The rule is made to create equality and it's great equality if you have an airport in town. If you get bad weather, commercial flights can get in while private planes can't fly, so the advantage was already there for larger cities that get commercial flights. It's definitely a disadvantage.
help south state strong ties
I see that as a strong asset. Also, he has strong ties to the state of South Carolina, and that should help us in recruiting.
ball bear bounce bryant coach fortunate head lucky undefeated year
I've been very fortunate as a head coach to go undefeated one year and the ball has to bounce the right way. You have to be lucky. I think Bear Bryant said that it's better to be lucky than good. We just weren't lucky this year.
ambassador college couple great handled last leadership media might seven sitting skills year
I've been here seven years and he's been my quarterback for four. He's sitting up here with a college degree. ... what a great ambassador for college football. His leadership skills and how he responded after a disappointing year last year, which was my fault. The way he handled it to the media might have put a couple more years on my contract.
defense effort extremely good move player practices sit
Duane is too good of a player to sit on the bench, ... He practices extremely hard. We want to move him to defense in an effort to get him on the field.
gets parents practice time
First time away from home, practice gets a little tough. You get a little homesick. I want the parents to feel comfortable.
defensive positions
There's still some defensive positions open, for sure.
bring five six
Bring 'em on about five or six more times. Let's play two for one: two down there, one up here.
extremely proud quit
There's no quit in them. I told them I was disappointed they lost, but extremely proud of the effort.
careful changing effort guaranteed guy level lose mean older talent younger
We're changing the talent level and you really need to be careful about your effort every day and you can lose (your spot). A lot of our talent is younger talent and just because you're an older guy doesn't mean you're going to be guaranteed a slot.
players sacrifice
That's the one thing you sacrifice when you go with more of a game-type format. But, it's more fan-friendly and the players like it more. If I have the numbers, I'll probably keep doing this, but you've got to have the numbers.
among asset billy carolina coaches division impressed next offensive reason side south staff state strong successful worked youngest
I was very impressed with Billy Napier when he worked on our staff in 2003 and 2004. He will be among the youngest full-time coaches in Division I next year, and I look at that as a strong asset. He was a big reason South Carolina State had a very successful season, especially on the offensive side of the ball. He will also be an asset to us in recruiting.
charlie good last messed productive responsibility sole talent
I think I messed Charlie up last year, and he's too good of a person, too good of a talent not to be more productive than he was last year. I take sole responsibility for him not being productive.
