conditions good ideal played scoring wind
The scoring conditions were ideal with no wind and I played well today. It was a good ball-striking day but I could have putted a little better.
golf win
You don't win golf tournaments when you do that.
compete months winter
That's what I'm out here to do. Compete and win. It makes the winter months a whole lot better.
chance hit perfect shoot shot swing time win
I'd like to shoot 59 before I'm 59. I've shot 60. I'd like to win the PGA, but I think that chance has passed. I'd like to hit a perfect shot each time I swing a club.
chance hit perfect shoot shot swing time win
I'd like to shoot 59 before I'm 59, ... I've shot 60. I'd like to win the PGA, but I think that chance has passed. I'd like to hit a perfect shot each time I swing a club.
bred breeds hear learn winners winning
You hear that winning breeds winning. But no winners are bred from losing. They learn that they don't like it.
ball close conditions driving easy half hit hole soft wind
I hit the ball pretty close to the hole all day, ... It was an easy day to score. The wind wasn't blowing. The TPC of Dearborn, when the conditions are soft like this, if you're driving the ball half decently, you're going to do pretty well.
golf wind challenges
Muirfield without a wind is like a lady undressed. No challenge.
winning losing
I learned how to win by losing and not liking it.
wrestling winning pay
Sometimes you have to lose major championships before you can win them. It's the price you pay for maturing. The more times you can put yourself in pressure situations, the more times you compete, the better off you are.
hit inches second third three took worked
I've worked with it. I took three putts and hit the first one about 3 inches fat. The second one, I hit it; and I hit the third 15 inches fat. That was it.
front gave good nine struggled
I started way too late. I struggled on the front nine and then I gave myself good putts at the end.
bruce companion good great
Bruce has been a good friend, a good companion and we've been a good team. He's also got a great sense of humor.
arm bad bruce came cowboys deal diagnosed doctor eagles fears guys joke phone somebody sort whenever
I was on the phone with Marsha, who said the doctor had diagnosed him with ALS. I said, 'Gosh, my fears are realized.' When Bruce got on the phone, he said, 'Well, I just made a quad.' You guys know what that means. That's how he just kind of brushed it off. I said, 'Yeah, but we're going to get back to even par.' Whenever somebody came up to put their arm around him and say they were sorry, Bruce would say, 'Don't be sorry, I can deal with it,' and then put them off with some sort of joke about the Eagles or how bad the Cowboys were.
