game possession record survive trying
We were just trying to survive one possession at a time, one game at a time. I thought a .500 record would be pretty good.
bought game kids possession quarter treated
How did the kids do it? They play with so much heart. Each game they kind of treated it like a season. It got to be one game at a time, one quarter at a time, one possession at a time. They bought into that, and then it started rolling.
bit chaos create
We try to create a little bit of chaos.
ball score
We had opportunities to score - and we didn't. We couldn't put the ball in the basket.
everybody stop
We were going to let her get hers. And stop everybody else.
anybody good job team
Obviously, we didn't have anybody to keep up with her. Their team does a good job getting her the ball.
change defense good kids personnel post time tough year
It's our way of survival. We have to play tough defense to play with the personnel we have. ... I've been doing this 17 years, and every year we had post players. To not have any, we had to change everything. It was a good time for me professionally and for the kids to do that.
feat great quite
It's a great accomplishment to be 20-3 and to be at state. I don't think any of the team's accomplishments were accomplishments that were expected. It's quite a feat for these young ladies.
broke speed
Unfortunately, their speed was a little too much for us. We broke down defensively too many times.
ball felt good hands job nobody stop team trying
We had nobody who could keep up with her. Obviously, we were trying to keep the ball out of her hands. That's their go-to player. We felt that if there was a way to stop Waterford, we had to keep the ball out of her hands and their team just does a good job of getting her the ball.
anybody felt good job player stop team
We didn't have anybody who could keep up with her. That's their go-to player and we felt if there was a way to stop Waterford it was to keep it out of her hands. Their team does a good job of getting her the ball.
I think we made just enough (free throws) to keep our cushion.
