I'm trying to understand the culture of Ball State University and the issues it faces. I've been asking a lot of questions and trying to be a good listener. I need to understand the history of how (the athletic program) got to where they are as we start to formulate plans for the future.

Publicity doesn't have to be perfect all the time. It draws attention to the sport the good, the bad and the ugly. A prime example is Nancy Kerrigan and Tonya Harding. There was nothing beautiful about that. But the attention on figure skating, there'll never be attention like it again.
