highest ranked seventh team top
We are the seventh highest ranked team in the conference, with the eighth-ranked team still ranked in the Top 50 in the country.
against good hung match played player ranked top
I thought he played a very good match against a player (Armando) that's been ranked in the top 100 in the world. He hung in there well.
match tough
This was a tough match for us. It was one we had to have.
freshmen obviously pleased shows
We competed well. Baylor obviously is good, but I'm pleased with the way we fought. And to have two freshmen go out and get wins, it shows how they're improving.
match
It's just one match at a time. They're all going to be very tough.
dangerous fortunate happy kept talented team
We're happy we got through it. Troy is a dangerous team with some talented players. Troy kept us out there a long time, and we were fortunate to win.
best display excited level tennis texas
We're really excited about having this level of tennis at Texas Tech. This is the best display of tennis Lubbock has ever seen.
conference playing toughest
This is probably the toughest the conference has been. If we're not playing well, we could go 0-7.
coaches convince felt greatest late major might school sure team top wavering year
He may try to go to school in Poland. He was a major part of our greatest year and obviously, if he had come back, we'd be a top 20 team this year. There had to be a deadline. A lot of coaches might have done everything they could to convince him to come back, but I felt that because he was still wavering at such a late date, if he's not sure he should be here than he probably shouldn't be here.
best bouncing compete couple deadline decision fall forth hours january last needed pass player weeks whether year
He needed to pass 24 hours for the year to compete in January and he needed to take 15 hours this fall to do that. It's been a very interesting last couple of weeks ... because Radek was bouncing back and forth on whether he would come back. Finally, I had to make the decision and set a deadline to do what's best for the team, because one player is never more important than the team.
loss tough
(Texas) A&M was probably the second-toughest loss I've ever experienced in my 15 years. That was a tough one.
