committed guys harder players
Some guys were not on the same page, ... Some players were working harder than other players. Some guys were committed to winning, some guys weren't. It was a little dysfunctional in the group.
attractive feeling good hard ideas love obviously players run spot super talks terms
We just made a run for the Super Bowl, so everybody's feeling good about themselves. Obviously our players become more attractive to other teams. So they get some ideas in their head. We'd love to have them all back, but that's hard to do. We're in a good spot in terms of where our talks are with all of our players.
battles few game players
There's still a few battles left. Those players know where those battles are, and they're all going to try to have the game of their life.
canned cases coaches good happen love players protect
Sometimes you feel like you are getting a canned answer. The coaches love these players in many cases and want good things to happen to them and are going to protect their group.
attention bigger buy concept league maybe paying players strive team
From a philosophical standpoint, I think the whole league is paying attention to that. They get the players to buy into the system, and no one is bigger than the team. It's a team concept all the way. We all strive for that -- maybe some more than others.
people players treat
If we know players don't treat the cafeteria people the way they treat the coaches, that's important to find out.
atlanta emotion emotional game players win
This is my job. I've got some friends on the Atlanta team, and they will always be friends when that's appropriate. So really, the emotion part comes with the players and coaches. You have to be emotional to win the game and they know it.
became defense group leader period proud short unified
We're so proud of what he's done. He really unified this group and became the quarterback of this group and the leader of this defense in a short period of time. My hat's off to him.
harm ken slow
We're going to take it slow and see how Ken goes. There's still more testing. We would never want to do anything that would harm him as we go forward.
adds along brings certainly character defensive discipline great locker numbers proud room team throughout work
We're just so proud of what he's accomplished. Not his numbers -- I mean, the sacks are great and everything -- but the character that he brings to our locker room, the discipline and the preparation and the work ethic. And that permeates throughout the locker room -- certainly along the defensive line -- and it adds to what this team has done.
across bought deserve drive enjoy job leaning line people playing rest road step team
The people who step across the line and get the job done deserve the credit. They enjoy playing with each other, they have each other's back, and they've really bought into the team concept. You drive down a road and see a road crew, two of them are working and the rest are leaning on their shovels? I lean on a shovel.
assess definitive game maybe
We're still in the checking-it-out stage. We want to get through a scrimmage, maybe a game or two and then assess it. ... It's too early. You can't make any definitive judgments.
everybody hunch knew picked
We knew when we picked him that he was going to come here, and everybody was going to want him to succeed. We had that kind of consensus. We had a hunch on him as well.
fitting higher people
We're higher than I would like. But with a transition, you're going to get this. People who aren't fitting are not going to be here.
